Canon Abilities: As a Newtype, Kamille has a weaksauce version of the Force is capable of certain feats of psychic ability. Due to the horrid vagueness that surrounds being a Newtype, I’ll break it down into bullet points • Can sense hostility and danger that’s about to be put into action. He can use this to dodge assaults that he can’t see coming, as well as predict where someone is about to be when attacking in turn • When near other psychics, can feel a metaphysical ‘pressure’ that denotes them as unique. When circumstances align, he can even communicate ideas and emotions with other psychics. • An off-shoot of the first ability, he can feel when people die. Depending on how the death occurred, Kamille can sense the feelings of the departed • Is capable of limited telekinesis in the vacuum of space. Unrelated, Kamille is a pilot for a giant robot classed as a Mobile Suit (MS), known as the Zeta Gundam. Actually related, there is a device in the back of his pilot seat, known as a Bio-sensor, that takes projected brainwaves and translates it into machine code, allowing him to overcome the natural limits of the suit, though its taxing mentally.
Possessions: ‘Normal Suit’ AEUG Pilot suit and Helmet: A streamlined pilot’s uniform that reduces G-forces acted upon the pilot and allows for movement of the wearer in Vacuum. Incredibly light compared to most spacesuits.
Pilot’s pistol: An emergency pistol meant to be used if the pilot has to leave his MS. Holds eleven bullets in its clip
Zeta Gundam: Kamille’s MS that he was piloting before his arrival, it’s missing its normal thruster suite, Beam Rifle and shield, meaning it can’t actually transform. Movement is limited in space, and its current armaments are limited to just its Vulcans and Beam Saber. Though it has a grenade launcher in its left arm, it is out of ammo. Without a Mechanic, Kamille will have to learn to maintain this machine on his own.
Personality: Before the start of the movie trilogy, Kamille had to deal with parents who had little interest in him, and more interest in their jobs. To clarify, his mother Hilda ignored the fact that her husband Franklin was having an affair with another woman because she was so involved with her research. More than that, she ignored that her research was being used by Franklin for a Mobile Suit project for the Titans, who were Earthnoid Supremacists. Coupling this with his feminine-sounding name, Kamille felt he had every right to resent his parents. This resentment made Kamille easy to anger, as well as eager to prove himself as a man by doing manly things, leading to him learning martial arts, taking up ‘Homo Arvis’ air gliding, and amateur mobile suit design. This same resentment followed him around in the trilogy for some time, and was the driving force of many of his decisions, such as decking Jerid Messa in response to his teasing, stealing the MK-II to scare an MP that had beaten him after decking Jerid, and calling his mentor a coward for running away from his heritage.
Kamille might have been revealed as a Newtype, but this didn’t introduce any sort of positive change for him. The fact just became another needling point to him, making him feel like he was under the shadow of the more famous Amuro Ray as his accomplishments keep getting compared to the other. Kamille even forms a special bond with an enemy Newtype called Four Murasame, much in the same way Amuro had. He had only known Four for a day or so, but according to his experience, he felt like he was being drawn in to her, and Four in turn was so moved by their brief time together that she shared her lack of past with her, and helped him to get into space at the cost of her own life (apparently). Moreover, those same powers are a source of confusion for Kamille, as he has trouble distinguishing the powerful sensations he experiences, often attributing psychic impressions from different female Newtypes to Four multiple times.
Through the course of the series, Kamille begins to develop a distaste for war, finding the deaths of his comrades to be horrible things and even considers revenge to be a pointless exercise in futility. This opinion on war wasn’t as well developed initially, as early in the series, when he sees his mother die before his eyes, he starts crying heavily and moves to avenge her death at once. In contrast, when Four Murasame diesto get him to space, he can’t muster the energy to hate her now-dead killer, finding such feelings pointless.
In spite of what growing up allowed Kamille to accomplish, his hair-trigger temper finally leveling out, he still struggles with the contradictions of hating war and doing his duty as a soldier, of the horror of taking a life and killing his enemies, and of hating to fight and fighting. He still falls back to the excuse of being ‘just a kid’ when being petulant and disagreeable, and still tries to hide how he feels about traumatic experiences, the rigors of war often being overwhelming for the boy. He relishes chances to actually enjoy himself, and let his inner child have fun, but with the Grips conflict being what it is, he doesn’t get many of these opportunities. Such is the life of a Newtype in a warzone.
History:http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Kamille_Bidan While not much changes from the movie trilogy, a lot is cut out from the tv show, such as the reappearance of Rosamia and Four, and certain scenes are added, such as Haman’s introduction at the end of the second movie. The big takeaway though is the end of Movie Three: At the end of the TV series, Kamille manages to kill Scirocco, but not without Scirocco performing a ‘take you with me’ that leaves him near catatonic, while Axis moves to take on the Federation in Gundam ZZ. In the Movie, Either Scirocco doesn’t have presence of mind to try his last spiteful action, or Kamille resisted the mental attack, but what it amounts to is that Kamille is alive and mentally well (for someone who went through a war like that, anyway).
Sample:A little vignette that I feel would work for an intro post/tag. This is some unrelated work I've done. And this Helps round out the emotional spectrum.
