This was answered here! But basically, whatever needs to happen to eliminate the worlds people are from/live on in any given canon will happen.
For example, if a canon only takes place on Earth and Earth alone, it's the only planet that will be destroyed. But if a canon involves multiple planets throughout the universe, every single one involved in the canon with need to be destroyed. If there are a lot, it's easy to just knock them out in one sweeping motion, like a chunk of space rock coincidentally and comically ping-ponging every single involved planet, etc.
