Name: Marinette Dupain-Cheng

Canon Abilities:As Marinette the regular every day human, she has a pretty artistic mind. She's really into fashion and making fashion, so she's great with sewing and stitching by hand.

But as Marinette the super hero, she basically has the power to turn into a magical girl without the tiny mini skirts. She is in posession of a pair of earrings ( Lady bug Miraculous) with a magical creature called a Kwami who is kind of the keeper of the power. When she calls upon the power of her Kwami, Tikki, she turns into a heroine by the name of Lady bug.

Lady bug, like any magical girl has a few powers that only she can do. While her partner Chat Noir has the power of bad luck, she has the power of good luck. Their powers together work really well in creating balance between them. She has an ability called Lucky Charm that creates something to help her in her current situation against a bad guy. Though she doesn't have control over what the ability gives her, she uses her quick thinking to make whatever charm she gets work. Also, when she uses this ability, since the power is so draining, she has to escape before five minutes are up, because she detransforms once the spots on her ear rings disappears. Ladybug is also the only one of the duo who can actually purify the akuma that take control over random citizens. That means if she were ever knocked out or not around, that would spell doom for France.

Possessions: Her clothes and her Tikki-less Miraculous.

Personality: Marinette is just your typical teenage girl. She's very sweet and kind to her friends and family, but not quite as much to people who are mean to her or her friends like Chloe, a girl she goes to school with. Besides her, she gets along well with pretty much everyone she comes in contact with. She would do anything she could to keep her friends happy and solve any problems they come to her with, and when they're feeling down, she feels down as well until she can find a way to fix their problems. On top of being sweet and loving, she is also playful with her best friends, and kind of a spazz when she's feeling stressed or embarrassed. It doesn't help much that she's kind of a huge clutz and often causes embarrassment for herself anyway. Along with her best friend Alya, she's a bit of a nerd, enjoying video games and excelling at them pretty well.

Adding to her typical teenage girl side, Marinette is a little on the boy crazy side. Or well that is to say, she's crazy about one boy in particular. This boy is named Adrien Agrest. He is a famous model for his father's clothing empire. When the two of them first met, Marinette had no idea who he was, and their first meeting didn't exactly turn out very well. Adrien was caught red handed in a prank he was trying to stop and Marinette assumed it was him because he didn't tell her who really did it. She thought he was a jerk just like Chloe was because they happen to be friends. It wasn't until later where Adrien gives Marinette his umbrella when it was raining after school and talked to her, telling her how he had no friends and wanted to be hers. It was then that love struck, and it struck hard. While previously when she talked to him she was calm and cool and a little annoyed, now anytime she's near him she absolutely freaks out. She becomes a stuttering mess and makes a complete fool out of herself. While teasing her, her best friend Alya also tries to encourage her to get closer to Adrien, but it never seems to work out in her favor.

It's alright though, because even if she's kind of terrible in the love department, she's pretty great in the friend department. Well, when she's not falling asleep and coming late to school with bad excuses. ( Most of the time it's to cover up for her secret identity.). Her classmates are close friends to her, and when they come to her asking for help, she does her best to come up with solutions. When elections in her classroom were going around to see who would become the class president, everyone pretty much deflated, because no matter what, Chloe always seemed to win. After being asked and seeing the sadness in her friend's faces she jumped up and decided she would run for president of the class against Chloe. Because Marinette didn't make stupid promises and told them straight out she would do what she could to make them all satisfied, She ended up winning, and Alya became her vice president.

She also convinced Kim, another classmate that he should follow his heart on Valentines day, and tell the girl he liked just how he felt. It wasn't exactly the best advice, because it turned out that Chloe was the girl he liked and she ended up embarrassing him via photo. Marinette kind of regretted telling him to follow his heart, but he listened to her because she was such a good friend. Another time, they were having class photos. A friend of hers named Juleka was depressed because it seemed like every time she tried to get a picture taken, something happened to ruin it so she wasnt in the shot. Marinette encouraged her and promised her she'd get her picture taken this time. Chloe kind of caused chaos once more and made it so Juleka missed her chance, but later on in the episode, Marinette convinced the photographer to take pictures after class, and it was the best time Juleka ever had.

Marinette has a bunch of hobbies, that are pretty important to her. She wants to become a famous fashion designer when she gets older. She's great with making amazing sketches for her ideas, and she's very talented when it comes to hand stiching and sewing, so much so that Adrien's famous fashion designer father complimented her work and she ended up winning a contest that he was holding. She's not confident with most things in her life, but when it comes to fashion she is very proud of herself.

Being a regular teenager means Marinette isn't without her own faults. She's extremely clumsy, so much so that her parents are unfazed when she falls down the stairs and are pretty good at catching things she drops. When it comes to fashion she's confident, but in every other aspect of her life, she isn't much so. She's always second guessing herself and always feels like she isn't good enough. If it weren't for Alya and Adrien telling her how great she is, she probably wouldn't be confident at all. They are the ones that help pull her up.

She also has a bit of a jealousy problem. This problem of hers actually caused her to accidently make two people turn into Akumatized victims. The first one was Chloe. When she was in her Ladybug form, she hurt Chloe by ignoring her and not accepting her help, when Chloe absolutely adores her ( In ladybug form). The second time was when this new girl named Lila came into the school. Lila was lying to everyone to get attention and was definitely stealing the attention of Adrien, the boy she has a crush on. Lila made up so many lies, especially the one where she basically said her and ladybug were bff's just to get Adriend's attention. This made Marinette furious and she made sure to show Lila that but storming up to her in Ladybug form and basically calling her out right in front of Adrien.

When Marinette is in her Ladybug form, she's a bit different than how she usually acts. She feels a lot more confident and a lot more amazing. She's quick thinking and and feels a lot stronger than she usually does. Tikki, her Kwami, tries to tell her all the time that it isn't Ladybug that is all this, it's herself, she is all these things and even more so, but Marinette still feels more confident when she's a hero. She still stutters a bit when around Adrien, but with him not knowing who she is behind the mask, she is able to try and make herself seem cooler. She's just able to act more freely and feels she can do a lot more good when she's behind the mask.

Basically, Marinette is just a goofy clutz with a kind very heart and a willingness to help people she cares about. She has her faults just like everyone else does, but she is still a kind girl, who is learning and growing just like anyone else her age. She just happens to have an added stress bonus of being a super hero that no one knows the identity of. Not even of partner Chat Noir.





History: Miraculous Lady bug doesn't exactly have a flowing time line like most series. For the most part its kind of your typical monster of the week, but it does have a few episodes with very important plot points and some character developement as well.
Before the start of the series, Marinette was just your typical awkward teenage girl. She has a loving mom and a loving dad, and is quite possibly the clumsiest person in the entire show. She gets chosen by the keeper of the Kwami's when despite the fact that she was in such a hurry to get to school, she rushes to the keeper, Master Fu's aid and helps him across the street so he wouldn't be smooshed by oncomming trafic. He saw the pure heart she had and decided to give her the power to become LadyBug.

While Adrian ( Her partner who goes by the name of Chat Noir ) was eager to don on the super hero image, Marinette had quite a different first reaction when she met her Kwami, Tikki. She freaked out and threw everything around her at the poor little Kwami who only tried to calm her down. When she finally calmed Marinette down from her little freak out she convinced her to put on the miraculous which in Marinette's case is a pair of earrings that are a blackish darkish red color ( until she transforms into Ladybug. Then they are bright red with black spots.), and told her to tell her transform. She freaked out the whole transformation and wanted to get out of her newly required attire the whole time.

That same day was the day she met her partner Chat Noir. A classmate of Marinette's was changed into a Rock monster because of these evil butterflies called Akuma that have the power to turn people evil. The villain in charge of sending out these Akuma goes by the name of Papillon. Chat Noir seemed more eager and confident when they went to go save the day, but Ladybug was so nervous and honestly though she was the wrong person for the job. It took Chat's encouragement to pull Ladybug out of her awkwardness and into the fight. Together they were able to save her classmate, but unfortunately she didn't realize she was supposed to capture the Akuma that flew away and that caused even more chaos to happen. Marinette felt absolutely terrible and decided she couldn't have this kind of resposibility. She even went so far as to try and give her earrings away to a new friend she made named Alya, who was into the whole Super hero stuff is cool.

Later on Alya was was put into danger though, and that was the moment Marinette realized that it doesn't matter how she felt. She had to save her friend. She was the only one who could do it. So she donned on the super hero persona once more to help her friend. That's when Marinette realized that she had to do this. She had to save France with Chat Noir, so none of her friends and family were harmed because of these akuma ever again.

Then time passes by and it becomes all Monster of the weekish. Everyone in her class one by one seemed to be hit by an Akuma at some point. It seems that Papillon only sends his little akumas after people around who had something upsetting or troubling happen to them. He seeks out the negative energy and bam a new "monster of the week" Ladybug and Chat Noir have to go defeat. And even though they are monster of the week type things, you can feel the characters maturing a bit throughout the episodes. Like Marinette here, who cannot stand a classmate of hers named Chloe. Chloe is absolutely vicious to everyone except for Adrien Agrest, and as Ladybug Chloe tried to help her during a mission. Marinette let her feelings for Chloe cloud her judgement and so she ignored her, which caused more problems and turning Chloe into an Akumatized victim herself. Ladybug saved the day and realized she couldn't just do that to someone no matter how rude they are and seemed to grow a bit more.

Toward the end of the season a new girl camed to school named Lila. She was the pretty kind of girl who said she pretty much did everything, met everyone, and was out to make herself super popular with everyone. Marinette didn't like that because it made her grow a bit jealous when Lila was hanging out so closely to her crush. She spied on the two of them and noticed a book that Adrien had that seemed like it was ancient and all about Miraculouses. She noticed that Lila stole the book and it made her have to chase after the two of them again. Lila threw the book away when she was trying to impress Adrien and Tikki managed to fish it out of the garbage. Then Marinette transformed into ladybug to give Lila a piece of her mind which caused her to run off crying which then caused her to turn into a victim of the Akuma. She lied to Chat and Lady, saying she too was a miraculous holder and tricked them into believing she was saving the day all over the place.

It was Marinette that realized Lila, or the name she was going by Volpina was actually just an akumatized victim that she caused. After catching Volpina finally, Marinette captured her akuma and purified her, but Lila didn't care. She vowed that this wasn't over between the two of them. After making sure everything was okay, Marinette had a conversation with Tikki, and Tikki told her it was time she started learning more about the Kwami and everything. So Tikki took her to the owner of the book she fished out of the garbage and when she opened the door, Master Fu was sitting there with a smile on his face and greeted Marinette with a hello Ladybug. That's how the season ended.
